St Agnes fishermen, Jacob and Ross supply me with beautiful fresh seafood.

Pollack
Pollack is a commonly caught white fish in the waters surrounding Scilly. Typically, Jacob and Ross would catch the fish with handlines, an extremely sustainable fishing method. Sadly due to a UK wide ban Pollack now can’t be specifically targeted.

Lobster
Jacob and Ross both catch lobsters out in the Western Rocks. They position lobster pots close into rocks and ledges, which takes a high level of skill and knowledge of the rocks and sea bed. Fresh out the sea I cook and pick the lobster. There are a number of lobster dishes available including Lobster rolls at lunch, and Lobster scampi!
What else do they catch?
They will also often catch Mackerel, Cornish Rock Salmon, Grey Mullet Monk Fish, Crab, Spider Crab and Crawfish. So, look out for exciting specials when you visit. You can also buy fish directly from Jacob and Ross when you visit St Agnes.
If the weather is good you’ll be able to see them out fishing when you come for fish and chips!
Pollack Zero Catch 2024
The sudden introduction of a sweeping ban on Pollack fishing came as a massive shock to the Isles of Scilly and Cornish fishing community. Currently there is no exception for handlining to be allowed, which to many seems odd. Here are a few informative articles on the matter.

Occasionally I may be able to serve Pollack as there are by-catch quotas, and when netting catching Pollack sometimes can’t be avoided. It has been an extreme worry, as I set up this business to showcase the incredible local food available to us, and to start to reduce food miles. I believe it is really important to know and understand where your food has come from.
Instead, Cornish caught fish will be available, such as Hake and Cod.
From the 2025 season I will be serving locally caught Pollack.
